East Caicos Adventures

  • An Amphibious trip to East Caicos begins with an early start from Middle Caicos or an even earlier start from Provo.
  • Travel by boat around Gamble and Haulover Points, down Wild Cow Run and onto Joe Grant Cay. It’s one of the most exciting journeys in the country with hidden beaches, numerous bird nests and blinding turquoise waters. The sheer beauty and colour of this area will take your breath away.
  • Once you round the top end of Joe Grant Cay you will have East Caicos in your sights.
  • Spend the day exploring this magical and very unpopulated part of the Turks and Caicos; there is great reefs for snorkeling, deserted beaches to comb, and solitude to relish.
  • The only other people you are likely to see are the occasional fishermen on the hunt for conch and lobster.
  • Discover historical East Caicos; learn about the sisal plantations, poke around the 19th century coastal ruins known as Jacksonville and put your mask on to see a cannon and discarded anchor underwater!!
  • A short walk inland (1 hour round trip) will take you to the first cave along the donkey railway. This is the most extensive of the caves found so far on East Caicos and its labyrinth of hidden chambers hold clues to the practices of the now extinct Taino Indians.
  • If sea conditions allow you can push on around the NW Point of the island to explore the beaches along the north-shore.  These are spectacularly long and broken only by the curving sand at Breezy Point & Thatch Cay.
  • Tide and time will dictate how far you can make it down the coast. If you want to explore further plan for an overnight adventure and camp out under the stars. Equipment provided.
