Middle Caicos Caves

The extensive caves on Middle Caicos are known as the 'Village Caves'. Located inside the first ridge towards the western end of the island they have been extensively mapped and explored. Despite this there is still very much a sense of adventure when exploring these caves due to the fact that there is no set path, no lighting, and virtually no signage. You need to enter with a guide but even so it is very different to visiting established caves in other parts of the world.

There are a total of between 2-3 miles of passage inside the Village Caves. Only part of this is accessible. It is easy to tour a large part of the cave in an upright position with nothing more than a pair of sturdy shoes. If you want to explore a little deeper be prepared to get muddy and hot. Bring a spare shirt.

There is a $10 entrance fee and the caves are managed in part by the Turks and Caicos National Trust.
